Back to Basics

February 26, 2012

It’s been far too long since I posted something – I thought it had been no more than a fortnight, but I was wrong. It’s not that big of an issue, but I’d like to get back to posting with some regularity.

So, here’s the start of my new eEiryss.
- Whatever army you play you pretty much need one of these models, so why not start with it.

I think I’ve built two of them before, each with a different way of removing the chimney and building rocks around it; but this time I’m going to try do something a small step up from that and subtly more effective – I’m going to redo the cap. So, as you can see the picture below, I’ve sorted out cleaning the pieces, clipped away the offensive brick work and taken a saw to her flowing cape.

My original intention had been to discard the cape altogether, and GS a completely new one, but after sizing up the mini on the base (you can see I’ve got some cork-rocks for testing on there), I’m going to try salvage the nice cape sculpt, but dramatically alter the cape angle – so it’s spread more over the base and Eiryss can be sitting on rocks closer to the ground.

Let’s see how this goes.
