Ridiculous
These were going to be the start of a new Khador army – the culmination of months of terribly distracted Karchev proxying – an all extreme (and highly converted) character heavy Karchev army.
But then I built the minis and realised how crazy an idea that was. I don’t have the time to super convert and scratch-build stuff to the level I want, or, if I do have the time, then I don’t really have the money to risk on such expensive models (each jack being the price of two plastic kits … before taking conversion materials into account); especially when one realises that Karchev lists aren’t all that accurately playable – so it’d be base tokens on the table half the time anyway.
And I never truly convinced myself that an all extreme army wasn’t just that little bit too-dickish for me to stomach playing.
It’s such an EXTREMELY awesome idea though, so I wanted to share it on some level…
… so bask with me in the glory of what, at this point, looks like it will never be.

Fin. … not quite.
Well, after a bit of focused painting time, I think I’ve knocked this project out. All that’s left now is to tidy up the black base trim and get these guys sealed.
- I did paint the black a bit earlier, but it’s rubbed off while handling the minis; as was to be expected.
Oh, and once it’s sealed I think I’ll try do something to make the blood look fresher and more wet – probably a glosh varnish and red paint mix.
It had been my original intention to have dropped cloak and ceremonial sword, with a bit more blood, some of which would be running into the steel channels which (in the presence of blood) were beginning to glow; but I felt it would be a bit much … and a bit of a pain to try pull off well. And I’m quite happy with the simple dark dungeon look which I think I’ve pulled off.
Here’s a shot of each of the separate minis. I’m really happy with how nicely the Scavenger came out; Versh, not quite so much, but it’s an old and semi-busy model, so whatchagonnado.
I should have some fully completed pictures up (after varnish and sealant, etc) in the next few days.
Comments and criticisms are more than welcome.
